An Ordinary Day?
Fuck no…

*Gasp* WHAT IS THIS? A… fic? From little old me? And a YYH fic, no less! Aye, what has this world come to… Boredom can make you do crazy shit. Crazy shit such as this little ficcie. My original intention was to write something funny, but that’s not quite how it turned out. If nothing else, you’ll probably laugh at how shitty it is, though. It’s probably filled to the brim with grammatical errors, too… |

Disclaimers: YYH belongs to Togashi & CO, all events in this fic are… fictional (duh), and were conjured up by my twisted mind. Any resemblance’s to real people is unintentional. This story does NOT hold true to Togashi's original work, and should not to be used as a substitute for it. If the reader is evil enough to steal this and put his/her name on it, then I will be very upset. Blah blah blah blah blah. |
Somewhere in a Tokyo far, far away from where ever the hell you might be, dear reader, cries of agony echoed through the night. The source of this nasty ruckus was nothing less than a really old, sexually frustrated, couple. …. But that really has nothing to do with this story, so never mind that.
An early Tuesday morning, in a completely different part of that same city, a young man with black hair, and wearing a green school uniform, was stealthily approaching the door leading out of "his" apartment.
From under a pile of unidentified stuff, located in a distant corner of the kitchen, a muffled grumbling could be heard, and soon, a young woman emerged from under said pile of stuff.
Her brown hair was a mess, as were the clothes she apparently never had time to slip out of before she crashed last night (or perhaps I should say "early that same morning"?).
A low moan powered by the unmistakable presence of a nasty, painful, hangover escaped her lips (as did a breath that could kill those with a low resistance to alcohol…), and she slowly ran a hand through her hair as she said:
"What… the hell? … Yuu…suke?"
The boy stopped and gave her a tired look over his shoulder. After a few long seconds, he turned his eyes back to the door and slowly put his hands in his pockets.
"You drank until you passed out, I called a cab for those transvestites, and then I went to take care of a few other things."
She sighed, let her head hang, and proceeded to tell him what was already rather obvious. "I’ve got a hangover."
"…No shit…"
Angry, she looked up and saw that he was already on his way out.
"Yu… Oh, Come ON! Give me a hand here, will ya?", She snapped at him. "Get me some aspirins, or something…"
"No."
He was just about to close the door when he once again stopped and looked back at her over his shoulder.
"I’m sick of this shit. If you need me, I’ll be with Kurama for now.
"Wha… What?! Just like that?"
"Not really. I made this decision weeks ago. We’ve already shipped over the necessary stuff, so you need not concern yourself with that."
The "Slam!"-ing sound that doors make, if you close them so, filled the air.

Once outside, Yuusuke quickly jumped down on the street below, his hands back in his pockets, and went on his way.
Another boy, one who was slightly taller, had long red hair and wore a pink/red school uniform, walked up behind him, and gently grabbed his wrist, thus pulling that hand out it’s pocket. They both stopped and Yuusuke slowly turned around. Their eyes met. One’s eyes were uncertain, and the other’s reassuring, neither boy speaking a single word.
Suddenly, gentle yet firm, the red haired boy pulled Yuusuke along with him as the two once again began to move, the first with a sweet, gentle, smile gracing his face, the other with a slightly confused look in his eyes. The two quickly picked up speed, and ran as fast as they could towards whatever fate would throw at them. The red haired one leading the way, the other following with a blind trust in his friend.
A warm and enchanting morning breeze caressed their faces and gently blew their hair about as they simply ran forward, and with swift and nimble movement ran through the small groups of people who wandered the streets this early in the morning.
And for that short while, hours turned into minutes, as some kind of feeling of freedom filled them both.
For this short moment in time, as long as they kept running, they shut out everyone, and everything, else, and enjoyed living seemingly carefree lives.

Yuusuke rolled over on his side, the shade of green on his clothes blending in almost perfectly with the grass the two lay on, and looked at his sleeping friend. After running through countless streets, and bumping into who knows how many pedestrians, the two had eventually ended up in a park, where they both collapsed from exhaustion under a nice big tree. Both of them were hopelessly out of breath and as thirsty as can be expected, but neither one of the two seemed to notice. And soon, under the eyes of the noon sun, sleep embraced him as well.
"…Is… Is this really such a smart thing to do?"
"She does not listen to reason and naturally we cannot force her to stop. She will not open up that way and thus we will never be able to do anything about the cause."
"But to do this… isn’t things like this just what little babies do when their parents don’t give them enough candy?"
"You know she relies on you to be there as a kind of "safety net", because what she’s doing is dangerous and foolish, and in her heart, she knows it. By walking away, you will show that you do not accept things the way they are, and hopefully, she will be forced to realize the danger in what she’s doing."
"But…?"
"We’ve told Kaasan, and Shizuru about what you and I are going to do, they will take care of everything while we look for…"
"Urameshi!!"
Yuusuke just mumbled something about "Go to hell, Kuwabara" at the person disturbing his sleep, and then snuggled up closer to the, already closer than close, nearest source of warmth.
"Hmm…Yuusuke? I think it might be a good idea to leave here now." The nearest (closer than close) source of warmth told him with a gentle, almost giggling, voice.
A slightly confused, but clearly blushing, Yuusuke was on his feet in a flash.
"About time you woke up." Kuwabara grinned at him.
The uncomfortable silence that then settled over the threesome could practically have been chopped up and eaten. Yuusuke stared at the ground with his face shining like a sun from all that blushing, Kurama discreetly glanced at his friend and tried hard not to giggle, or laugh, at the awkward situation, and Kuwabara was just observing the two of them.
Fortunately, the mighty Kuwabara took it upon himself to do something about this little problem.
"Hiei tried to clean out all the food in our fridge again."
Kurama caught on and asked the question, the answer to which was critical whenever Hiei screwed up during his little food raids: "Who caught him?"
"Shizuru. So I guess we’d better get on over there and help the poor little midget, eh?"
Kuwabara turned and walked away, chuckling a little to himself as Kurama once again took a gentle hold on one of Yuusuke’s wrists, and pulled the still blushing boy with him as he walked after Kuwabara.
Yuusuke stumbled forward and soon walked next to the red haired boy, who despite that didn’t let go of his wrist.
"Hey… Kurama… uh… so when did you wake up, anyway?"
Before the other boy could answer him, Kuwabara interrupted their would-be-conversation with a simple "Will you two hurry it up? Hiei’s probably DYING as we speak!!"
Kurama waved at him, he had somehow ended up being a few dozen metres ahead of them, and then turned his eyes back to Yuusuke. Then, for just a brief second, he smiled teasingly at the more or less blushing boy who then just blinked back at him with an "Uhm…what the hell?" kinda look in his face. But before he could ask anything else, Kurama pulled him along as he ran up to Kuwabara and asked about the weather and other less than interesting things.
