063 - Yusuke e a Doutrina Suprema
(Yusuke and the Supreme Doctrine)
Toguro Otouto states that he could kill Urameshi with only one arm if he wanted, but he won't do so. He made the final transformation in order to have a real fight, and he thinks Yusuke is holding his powers back. "I know there's more to the powers Genkai passed onto you. I spent my whole life training to become stronger to face your total strength now. It's a duty you must fulfill."
From
Toguro's shoulder, two protuberances rise, sucking in the souls of the
dead demons among the spectators. Everyone is horrified as this atrocious
act. Toguro says that twenty minutes are enough for him to eat the souls
of everybody in the stadium, and asks Urameshi if he won't do something
to protect his friends.
Koenma
makes a kekkai to shield him and the rest of the Urameshi Team. Many spectators
are dying, their souls stolen. Juri hides behind a wreck of the battlefield.
The girls are still safe under Puu's kekkai. The public runs to exit doors
in panic, but Sakyo uses a remote control to raise tall thick metal walls
around the stadium, keeping everyone from escaping.
The public then tries to attack Toguro -- they were cheering for him before, but now they're fighting for their lives. However, Toguro easily kills all the attackers with the fingersnap trick, and also absorbs their souls. "Don't interfere. This combat is between Urameshi and me alone."
"Don't
involve me in your dirty business!" Yusuke yells and jumps back to the
arena, hitting Toguro's forehead with a sock. The taller fighter doesn't
flinch, but the ground beneath his feet crack. "Now I understand. You
need to be furious to summon your real strength."
As Yusuke continuously punches an unmovable Toguro, the public starts cheering for Urameshi, the only one that can save them from being murdered and having their souls stolen. Hiei snorts at the public's opportunist change of heart.
Toguro hits Urameshi with a single punch that sends the boy flying backwards. Yusuke charges again, but this time the taller fighter just grabs his fist and squeezes it. Yusuke howls in pain. It's Toguro's turn to pounce Yusuke with continuous socks -- but the boy feels every strike and spits blood.
Keiko
can't believe what she sees. She remembers how her life with Yusuke used
to be -- worrying about his studies, wondering at night if he had dinner
or not, going to fetch him for school every morning... a monotonous but
pleasant, tranquil routine. Watching the kid she grew up with being beaten
up in that strange tournament, she tells herself that this is just a dream,
and that everything that happened before was reality. Tears roll down
her cheeks. "Yusuke, let's go home together..."
Yusuke
finally falls before Toguro's strikes. He remembers times in the past
when Keiko would urge him to go home (and even drag him away) so he wouldn't
get himself in trouble. But even in the sweet memories of their childhood
the image of a giant Toguro intrudes to threaten little Keiko and tell
him he can't go back anymore.
In the present, Toguro steps heavily on Yusuke's groin. "So you won't do anything? Will you stay here and see me eat your friends?"
In
the stadium corridors, nurses are busy tending to the spectators that
are being affected by Toguro's dark energy. Koto falls on her knees, weakened
herself, but Chuu comes to her rescue and forms a kekkai to protect her,
Rinku and herself -- leaving a worried George outside.
Botan is frantic, trying to get Keiko to snap out of her catatonic state, but she's crying as well. "Yusuke is going to win. Genkai won't forgive him if he's defeated. He has to win, he has to!" That's when she hears a familiar voice very near trying to calm her down.
"Now
that I'm with 100% of my powers, I'll do anything to make you stronger,"
Toguro tells Yusuke, throwing an airwave disk in the girls' direction.
The strike makes a hole through the wall beside Puu's kekkai and kill
the demons that were standing there. "I'm not going to miss next time,"
Toguro warns.
Furious, Urameshi attacks. But still he's too weak and Toguro has no difficulty pushing him away, causing the boy to collide with the guardrail around the arena, destroying a massive part of the structure. "I'm disappointed, Urameshi. I thought I had found someone of my level."
The spectators panic, seeing no possible salvation for them. Sakyo is calm, confident that he'll win the bet with Koenma. "I'm only twenty years old," Shizuru sighs, calmly smoking her cigarette. "What a short life." Botan reprimands her for being pessimistic.
Puu
turns to Botan and Yukina and tells them to keep up the kekkai he made.
Now Botan recognizes Genkai's voice. "Baachan's spirit incarnated in Puu!"
Shizuru exclaims.
Puu/Genkai flies to the arena and tells Toguro a sure way to get Yusuke to reveal his whole force: "Kill his friends."
Yusuke is shocked, but Puu/Genkai insists that the boy won't "wake up" until he sees one of the people he cares for being killed right before his eyes. "If the fight goes on like this, everybody will die," Puu/Genkai tells Yusuke. "If we have to get your real strength out, sacrificing one life is better than sacrificing all."
Yusuke
stands up and yells at Puu/Genkai for suggesting such a horrible thing.
Puu/Genkai slaps him with one of his wings. "Yusuke, this is the world
you chose to live in. The weaker ones have to submit to whatever falls
upon them."
Annoyed at their argument, Toguro snaps his fingers, hitting both Urameshi and Puu/Genkai. But he says he agrees with Genkai and warns Urameshi that this is his last chance. He turns to look at the rest of the Urameshi Team, choosing the one he's going to kill.
Yusuke tries to stop him, but he isn't strong enough to halt Toguro's slow walk towards his victim. Kurama tells Hiei they have to fight now. "How?" Hiei snorts. "Kurama, you don't have any energy left."
"Neither
do you, Hiei," the redhead replies. "Are you thinking about running away?"
"I'm not a coward," Hiei says dryly. "I'll fight him on my own if I need to."
Yusuke points the finger to prepare a Reigan, but even before he can begin focusing his ki Toguro blurs away and appears right beside Yusuke -- practically cheek to cheek -- and pushes the boy's head against and through the cement ground.
Hiei
and Kurama prepare to fight, but Kuwabara steps forward. "I'm going alone.
Koenma betted his life on Urameshi, now it's my turn." He demands that
Hiei and Kurama don't interfere. He challenges Toguro: "The flowers must
be cherry blossoms, and the man must be Kazuma Kuwabara! I won't die in
vain; therefore I am going to cut you down with the power of my sword!"
Kuwabara
charges with his Reiken. Toguro is far faster. With his hand, he stabs
Kazuma's chest. Fingers rip into tender flesh. The boy vomits blood, and
more blood gushes from the appalling wound right over his heart.
Kuwabara staggers forward, reaching a hand out at Yusuke. "Urameshi... you're not weak... Please don't disappoint me..."
Hiei
tries to attack Toguro, but the taller man blurs away. Kurama and Koenma
run to help Kuwabara, who falls lifelessly in the redhead's arms.
At
the sight of his best friend's body fallen prone on a pool of blood, Yusuke
stands up slowly, his aura flaring around him. "I couldn't save him,"
he says sadly. "I'll never forgive myself. And I'll show no mercy to you
either, Toguro."
Toguro only smiles. "At last..."
