The demons start to enter through the tunnel. Sitting on the TV set, Sensui says he needs a guide to the Makai. Kuwabara snarls, "I'll take you wherever you want to go."

Hiei summons the Black Dragon, and Kurama turns into Youko. They both charge against Sensui, who recognizes their ki level as belonging to A-class. Kuwabara promises Urameshi he'll avenge his death, and runs after his teammates.

The Black Dragon pulls an unimpressed Sensui into the tunnel, and Hiei, Youko Kurama, and Kuwabara run in after them. Mitarai helps Koenma to stand, worried about the tunnel. Koenma says that Hiei's Kokuryuuha destroyed the first wave of demons, but others will come soon, S-class demons included. Mitarai reminds him of the barrier between the worlds, but the Reikai Prince is sure Kuwabara will destroy the barrier so he, Hiei and Kurama can fight Sensui, even if they don't stand a chance against him.

In the tunnel, Kuwabara asks Kurama how he made the transformation into Youko: "I didn't. The energy inside me grew stronger and changed my body."

They reach the barrier; Sensui is on the other side, waiting. Hiei sees that his black flames were ineffective against the former Tantei; he's not even slightly burned.

The barrier holds back only A or higher-class demons. Hiei and Kurama's youki grew to A-class level when they saw Yusuke being killed; now they can't go through. Kuwabara cuts the barrier with the dimensional sword. Sensui flies towards the Makai.

At Reikai, Botan explains the situation to Enma-daiou, who decides to call the Special Defense Squadron (Tokubetsu Boueitai): "I'm afraid we have failed at some point," he sighs. She asks if he refers to Sensui. "No. I'm talking about the Evil Clan." Botan and George are puzzled.

The Tokubetsu Boueitai leaves to Ningenkai; the narrator explains that their main function is to protect the humans and exterminate the demons that assail the humankind. Enma-daiou listens to the sirens that ring throughout the Palace, used to convoke the Tokubetsu Boueitai: "This is not a pleasant sound, but we can't exchange it for the tranquil sound of an organ..." Botan and George are frightened at the tension in the Spiritual World.

At Makai, a huge tower of demons is forming, trying to reach the tunnel entrance up in the sky. At some distance, a group of more cautious demons wait, sensing four strong ki sources coming from Ningenkai though the tunnel.

Sensui emerges from the tunnel, contented to be finally in the Demon World. The boys come right behind him, and the four start their long fall towards the Makai ground. Hiei recognizes the landscape below as the Gusha Forest: "We were very lucky, the demons of this region are not so violent."

Kurama summons a plant that looks like butterfly wings, and attaches it to his back, extending vines to hold Kuwabara and Hiei. They glide slowly down. Sensui floats inside his ki aura: "In ancient times, people with special powers like me were considered angels. The energy merges with nature. However, this evil wind is hard to handle." He suggests that they leave the beautiful forest alone and fight on a plateau nearby. The boys agree and they all land.

The boys surround Sensui, who stands impassive: "There's no shame in acknowledging defeat. I say this with sheer sincerity to you, who are about to die." He turns his ki aura into an armor. Ignoring Kuwabara's cautious protests, Hiei absorbs the Black Dragon inside his body, by letting the creature to devour him -- just as he did in the Dark Tournament finals. Kurama disapproves: "Hiei should think more carefully about the aftermath."

Hiei attacks with that astounding force, but none of his punches break through the armor, and Sensui effortlessly shoves him away. Kurama and Kuwabara charge together, but Sensui easily dodges from the Makai plant and the dimensional sword. Hiei tries again using his speed and the Makai Fire sword; the armor absorbs the sword's energy.

Sensui says they can't use their full force because, knowing they're about to be killed, they unconsciously try to protect themselves: "I'm sorry, but you're gonna suffer a lot before dying."
