- it's funny, but the idea that astounded you so much (Hiei and Mukuro together)
was the better solution that I found to Hiei's happiness when YYH ended.
For me, after all the suffering he had being through, he needed a family,
and Mukuro, since her past has been just like his, was the perfect candidate.
They could build a happy family, even with kids, which is something I think,
to this day, that Hiei deserved to be given.
I imagined that Mukuro already invited Hiei to her kingdom with very clear intentions. She had Hiei's hiruiseki and through the teargem she knew that Hiei was her ideal match. She beat him in the Tournament because she knew that in order to win his love she had first to win his respect, and only defeating him that would become possible. Mukuro gave the Tournament up for she had already gotten what she wanted, Hiei's respect.
But because they are both very reserved, their last scene together would show a duel of words between them; none of them had the courage to start the dialogue that would unite them for good. They pretended not to care about each other, but very soon they would be in each other's arms.
At the time I didn't have access to the Web, and a romance between Hiei and Kurama never crossed my mind. After I started reading those fics I was seduced by the beautiful couple Hiei and Kurama make, and I began to think they were perfect together. But still I think it's a good idea to marry Hiei to Mukuro, which would leave Hiei as king of one third of the Makai, with the chance of having a son or a daughter (Kurama could never give him this). And Kurama being his official lover, recognized and respected by everybody, including Mukuro herself.
Some day I'll end up writing a fic with this plot. I've been thinking about it for a while. Hiei would have to marry Mukuro to keep the peace in the kingdom, Kurama would consent to it with the condition of never leaving his side; Mukuro would accept Kurama as her husband's lover and everyone would be happy ever after. (...)
